The FLIR ONE Edge Pro is a rugged thermal camera that connects wirelessly to iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. It enables remote inspection of hard-to-reach places from up to 30 m (100 ft) away or can be clipped to a phone/tablet for one-handed thermal imaging. The device combines VividIR and FLIR MSX® image enhancement technologies and works with the FLIR Ignite™ cloud service for easy upload, organization and sharing of thermal images and video. Compatibility is carrier- and OS-agnostic, allowing updates to your phone or tablet without replacing the thermal camera.

How to use

Attach the FLIR ONE Edge Pro to a compatible smartphone or tablet using the clamp for one-handed imaging, or operate it wirelessly by pairing via Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth to remotely inspect targets up to 30 m away. Launch the FLIR app on your iOS or Android device to view live thermal and MSX-enhanced images, capture radiometric JPGs or video (MOV on iOS, MP4 on Android), and use point measurements or 3-point measurement modes to record temperatures. Use the VividIR and MSX controls in the app to improve image clarity and select shutter, emissivity and reflected temperature correction as needed.

Usage recommendations

For best accuracy, allow the device to stabilise for 60 seconds after startup when ambient temperature is between 15°C and 35°C and keep the scene temperature within the recommended measurement range. Use emissivity correction for different surface finishes and keep the battery charged before extended inspections. Store and organise images in FLIR Ignite for team collaboration and later analysis.
