The Fractal Design Define 7 Midi Tower in black is a versatile mid-tower PC case that balances modularity, airflow and quiet operation. It supports ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards, accommodates bottom-mounted PSUs and offers multiple fan and radiator mounting options. The case ships with three Dynamic X2 GP-14 fans and provides flexible interior layouts for either a high-airflow open build or a dedicated storage configuration.

Advantages

The Define 7 delivers strong cooling capacity with up to nine 120/140 mm fan positions and preinstalled high-airflow nylon filters with full PSU coverage for easier cleaning. Its dual-layout interior supports large components including E-ATX (up to 285 mm) and radiators up to 420 mm, while the included Multibracket and multiple HDD/SSD mounts allow conversion of fan positions into storage or pump mounts. Sound-damped front, top and side panels and vibration-damped HDD trays reduce noise. Front connectivity includes five USB ports with one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C supporting up to 10 Gbps and fast charging.

How to use

Choose the desired interior layout (Open Layout for maximum radiators and reservoirs or Storage Layout for expanded HDD capacity). Install the power supply at the bottom and mount the motherboard according to the supported form factor. Use the included Nexus+ 2 fan hub to connect and control up to three PWM and six 3-pin fans. Fit drives into the universal brackets or dedicated SSD mounts and convert unused fan positions with the Multibracket if additional storage or a pump is needed. Route cables behind the motherboard tray using the integrated cable guides and Velcro ties for a tidy build.

Usage recommendations

For best cooling performance, use the preinstalled GP-14 fans in a push-pull configuration with a compatible 360–420 mm radiator and keep front and top filters clean. When prioritising silence, use the sound-damped panels and vibration-damped trays, and balance fan speeds via the Nexus+ 2 hub or motherboard PWM control.
