The Fractal Design Define 7 Midi Tower in Grey is a modular mid-tower PC case engineered for flexible configurations, efficient airflow and ease of use. Its adaptable dual-layout interior supports large motherboards up to 285 mm E-ATX and offers space for custom water loops with radiators up to 420 mm. The case ships with three Dynamic X2 GP-14 fans preinstalled and can accommodate up to nine fans in total. Storage options are extensive: six universal HDD/SSD brackets plus two dedicated SSD brackets and a Multibracket are included, allowing conversion between open and storage-focused layouts.

The Define 7 provides a balance of cooling potential, noise dampening and expandability. High airflow nylon filters with full PSU coverage and convenient front access keep components clean while the noise-optimized panels reduce acoustic output. A slim Nexus+ 2 fan hub lets you connect multiple PWM and 3-pin fans, and front panel connectivity includes a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port supporting up to 10 Gbps and fast charging. Cable routing is simplified by integrated guides and Velcro ties.

How to use

Choose Open Layout for maximum airflow and room for large radiators and reservoirs, or switch to Storage Layout to increase HDD capacity. Remove or swap panels and the top section to access fan mounts and routing paths. Install fans, radiators and drives into the indicated mounting positions; use the included Multibracket to convert unused fan positions into HDD, SSD or pump mounts. Connect fans to the Nexus+ 2 hub and route motherboard cables through integrated guides, securing them with the supplied Velcro ties.

Usage recommendations

For best thermal performance, install a front or top radiator sized to the case’s supported maximum and maintain the nylon filters by cleaning them regularly. Use the noise-damped panels and vibration-damped trays when assembling a quiet system, and verify front I/O connections (Type-C and USB ports) are compatible with your devices.
