The Fractal Design Define 7 XL is a full-size PC case built for large custom systems, offering extensive modularity and flexible layouts. It supports motherboards up to SSI-EEB and E-ATX, provides room for extensive water-cooling with radiator support up to 480 mm in the front or top and 280 mm in the base, and includes multiple drive and fan mounting options for high-capacity builds.

Advantages

The case features an open, dual-layout interior that adapts to massive components and complex cooling configurations, a ventilated PSU shroud with removable cover, and an ultra-slim Nexus+ 2 fan hub that supports up to three PWM and six 3‑pin fans. Storage capacity is extensive with support for up to 18 HDD/SSDs in the Storage Layout plus additional SSD mounts; cable management is simplified by detachable PSU cable shielding, integrated cable guides and Velcro straps. Install the motherboard using the included standoffs and select the preferred interior layout (Open or Storage) depending on whether you prioritise radiator space or maximum drive capacity. Fit radiators and fans into the supported front, top or base positions, using the Nexus+ 2 hub to connect PWM and 3‑pin fans. Mount drives in the removable trays or Multibrackets and route cables through the 13 pass-through holes with rubber grommets; secure cables with the integrated guides and Velcro straps. Swap the top Moduvent panel between solid and ventilated modes as required for airflow versus noise control.
