Uninterruptible Power Supply FSP Champ Tower 1K
The FSP Champ Tower 1K is an online double-conversion uninterruptible power supply providing 1 kVA (900 W) of output power in a compact tower enclosure. Designed for continuous protection of sensitive electronics, it uses a 12 V, 9 Ah internal battery to deliver short-term backup power and clean, regulated output. The UPS features a microprocessor controller, USB Type-B and RS-232 communication ports, a built-in intelligent slot for optional adapters and cards, and a straightforward button-based control interface. Its black, space-saving tower design measures 145 mm (W) × 282 mm (D) × 220 mm (H) and weighs 9.8 kg, making it suitable for small server closets, workstations, or network equipment cabinets where full online protection is required.
The double-conversion topology continuously isolates load equipment from mains disturbances, providing consistent sine wave output and tight voltage regulation. A high output power factor of 0.9 increases usable power for connected devices relative to apparent power. Built-in USB Type-B and RS-232 ports enable monitoring and graceful shutdown through common management software. The intelligent expansion slot allows adding communication or dry-contact modules without replacing the UPS, while the compact tower form factor conserves rack and desk space.
Place the UPS on a stable, flat surface with adequate ventilation and connect the input to a properly grounded mains outlet. Attach critical equipment to the UPS output sockets and, if required, connect the USB Type-B or RS-232 port to a management computer for monitoring and automatic shutdown configuration. Use the front-panel buttons to power the unit on and off and to access basic status indicators. Periodically check battery status through the management interface or front panel indicators, and allow the battery to charge fully after initial installation before relying on the unit for extended backup.
For reliable operation, install the UPS in a dry, dust-free environment with ambient temperature within the manufacturer’s recommended range. Do not overload the unit beyond its 900 W output rating; plan for margin to extend battery runtime and reduce stress on internal components. Test the shutdown sequence with connected equipment via the communication interface to ensure graceful closure of applications and data integrity during a power event.
