The Ricoh fi-7240 is a compact desktop scanner combining an automatic document feeder (ADF) and an integrated flatbed module to capture a wide range of paper documents. It supports duplex scanning and delivers high-quality digital images with a 600 x 600 DPI optical resolution and 24-bit colour depth. Designed for office environments, the scanner accepts mixed document batches, handles sheets from 27 to 413 g/m², and offers an 80-sheet ADF capacity for continuous capture of invoices, forms and archives.
The fi-7240 offers reliable mixed-batch feeding with mechanisms such as a skew reducer roller and ultrasonic multifeed detection to minimise misfeeds and protect originals. Its integrated flatbed enables scanning of bound or delicate items while PaperStream IP and PaperStream Capture software provide advanced image enhancement, TWAIN/ISIS driver support and one-click capture profiles. Centralised management via Scanner Central Admin reduces downtime across deployments.
Place the scanner on a stable desktop or countertop and connect it to a workstation via USB. Load up to 80 sheets into the ADF, or open the built-in flatbed for single delicate or bound items. Use PaperStream IP as the TWAIN/ISIS driver to configure image processing options such as noise removal and background pattern removal. Create or select a PaperStream Capture profile to automate scan settings and link frequently used profiles to the scanner front-panel button for one-touch operation.
For reliable mixed-batch scanning, pre-sort extremely irregular or oversized items and remove staples where possible. Enable the Intelligent Multifeed Function to allow the ultrasonic sensor to detect and handle attachments like sticky notes. Schedule regular cleaning and replaceable consumables checks to maintain feed performance and image quality.
