The Ricoh ScanSnap SV600 is an overhead scanner designed for non-contact scanning of documents from business cards up to A3 (landscape) size. It uses a CCD linear image sensor, a long depth-of-field lens and a high-directivity white LED lamp (VI technology) to capture smooth, evenly lit images without touching the originals. The scanner supports multiple document detection, page-turning detection and timed continuous scanning, and connects via USB 1.1 or USB 2.0. Its compact, robust design allows easy placement on a desk and rapid readiness for scanning.

Advantages

VI technology (deep depth-of-field lens + CCD sensor + high-directivity LED) minimises unevenness in image quality and enables safe, contactless scanning of delicate items such as photos, drawings or documents with soft media. How to use

Place the document flat on the supplied black backing pad within the scanning area and start scanning with one touch. For multiple small items, distribute them with at least 15 mm spacing so the Multiple Document Detection can crop each item automatically (up to 10 documents). Use Page Turning Detection or Timed Mode for continuous scanning of multi-page bound material. After scanning, preview images in the ScanSnap software to apply Book Image Correction or perform manual retouching to remove finger images.

Usage recommendations

For best results, keep the document surface clean and position originals on the black pad; use the user interaction retouch tool to remove any visible fingers from captured images. Update ScanSnap software online to enable ScanSnap Receipt and ScanSnap Sync features for receipt extraction and cloud synchronisation.
