Flatbed & ADF scanner Ricoh fi-7700
The Ricoh fi-7700 is a heavy-duty flatbed and automatic document feeder (ADF) scanner designed for high-volume professional use. It delivers instant processing performance up to 100 ppm / 200 ipm (A4, landscape, colour, 200/300 dpi) and supports mixed-batch scanning from A8 to A3, paper weights 20–413 g/m², folded documents up to A1 and longer, and media such as envelopes and plastic cards. The scanner includes a 300-sheet ADF, a rotatable ADF unit, an integrated flatbed, a 30000-document daily duty cycle, an LCD panel for status and controls, and software drivers (PaperStream IP) plus batch capture (PaperStream Capture) for image enhancement and workflow automation.
The fi-7700 combines high throughput with flexible media handling: fast duplex scanning, a straight paper path for reduced stress on documents, and adjustable feeding modes for thick or folded items. Built-in functions such as Skew Reducer and Paper Protect (iSOP) detect feeding irregularities and stop the feed to prevent jams and damage. The ADF can rotate or slide for convenient placement, independent side guides and adjustable stacker guides improve alignment, and the flatbed scans fragile or bound documents consecutively even with the cover open. Bundled PaperStream IP (TWAIN/ISIS) and PaperStream Capture software enable image enhancement, OCR-friendly output and batch processing with an intuitive GUI.
Place documents into the ADF tray (up to 300 sheets) and adjust the independent side guides to match the batch width, or use the flatbed for thick, fragile or bound items. Select scanning settings via the LCD panel or the PaperStream Capture application, choosing resolution, colour mode and file output destination. For mixed-size or long-form scanning, verify the ADF is set to the appropriate feeding mode; switch to non-separation mode for multi-layered or folded materials. Start the scan from the panel or software and monitor status messages on the display. Use PaperStream IP for image enhancement and to optimise results for OCR and downstream processing.
For consistent results, feed similarly sized documents in the same batch when possible, keep the feed path clean and perform routine maintenance as described in the service materials. Use PaperStream Capture to organise batches and verify scans before releasing them to storage or OCR workflows. Consider optional service upgrades for extended warranty and onsite support if the scanner is used in a mission-critical high-volume environment.
