The Ricoh ScanSnap SV600 is an overhead scanner for A3 documents that enables non-contact digitisation of newspapers, books, magazines, maps and other flat or bound materials. It uses a CCD linear image sensor, a long depth-of-field lens and a high-directivity LED lamp to deliver smooth images from a distance. The scanner supports multi-cropping of several items in one pass, page-turn detection and timed continuous scanning. Compact and robust, it connects via USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 and offers automatic image correction including Book Image Correction to reduce curvature and distortion when scanning bound documents.

How to use

Place the item flat on the supplied black scanning pad within the scan area and start scanning with one touch using the Scan button or the Quick Menu. For multiple small documents, arrange them with at least 15 mm spacing so the scanner can detect and automatically crop up to 10 items in one pass. For bound material, position the open book on the pad and scan; Book Image Correction and user interaction retouch tools are available in the preview to correct curvature and remove visible fingers if necessary. Use Page Turning Detection or Timed Mode for continuous multi-page captures.

Usage recommendations

For best results, ensure originals are placed flat on the black pad and maintain the minimum spacing between multiple documents. Use the included ScanSnap Organizer and enable ScanSnap Sync for automatic cloud synchronization; update the scanner software to access optional features such as ScanSnap Receipt and the latest sync integrations.
