Tracking device GARMIN Alpha 200 — GPS/GLONASS/Galileo, 16 GB, IPX7, 20 h battery, touchscreen 3.5", VHF 5-channel
GARMIN Alpha 200 is a handheld dog tracking device that combines GPS/Galileo positioning, topographical mapping and training features. Designed for hunters, trainers and working dog handlers, the Alpha 200 provides real-time location, distance and bearing to compatible dog collars, activity and hunt metrics, and an easy-to-read 3.5” sunlight-readable capacitive touchscreen. The unit supports multi-GNSS tracking, downloadable satellite imagery and a user-replaceable battery that lasts up to 20 hours.
The device monitors up to 20 dogs from distances up to 9 miles with a 2.5‑second update rate and allows management of active groups and inactive dogs for faster setup. Preloaded TopoActive maps, optional public land boundary display, BirdsEye Direct satellite downloads and multi-GNSS support improve navigation and situational awareness. Dedicated six-button controls, 18 levels of stimulation, tone and vibration commands enable precise training when paired with compatible Garmin dog collars. A replaceable battery and microSD card slot expand field time and mapping options.
Power on the handheld and pair it with compatible Garmin dog collars following the device pairing procedure. Add your dogs to the dog list and organize them into active groups for each outing; inactive dogs can remain in the system for easier management. Use the capacitive touchscreen and six dedicated buttons to view maps, select a dog, monitor distance and bearing, and issue training cues such as stimulation, tone or vibration when using a training-enabled collar. Use the Pro View compass mode for a quick directional overview and access TopoActive maps or BirdsEye imagery for detailed terrain reference.
Keep the handheld’s firmware and the Garmin Explore app updated, maintain charged spare batteries, and verify collar compatibility before use. Use appropriate stimulation levels for each dog and monitor hunt metrics to help prevent overheating. Load additional maps via microSD if you will operate in remote areas without cell service.
