Thermal pad Gelid GP-Extreme 12 W/m·K, grey, 80×40×0.5 mm
Gelid GP-Extreme 12 W/m·K thermal pad is designed to improve heat transfer between electronic components and heatsinks. This grey pad measures 80×40×0.5 mm and provides high thermal conductivity of 12 W/m·K. Supplied as one pad per pack, it is intended for use where height differences or uneven surfaces must be bridged to ensure reliable thermal contact on PCBs and compact cooling assemblies.
The GP-Extreme combines high thermal conductivity with a soft, conformable structure that fills small gaps and irregularities on component surfaces. It is non-electrically conductive, non-corrosive, non-curing and non-toxic, enabling safe use around sensitive SMD parts. The pad’s dimensions and flexibility allow straightforward placement on larger PCB areas such as VGA cards and densely packed devices, while the 0.5 mm thickness suits thin thermal interfaces.
Clean both contact surfaces to remove dust, grease and old thermal interface material. Measure and, if necessary, cut the thermal pad to match the target area, keeping edges smooth to avoid stress points. Peel off the protective liner, position the pad between the component and the heatsink, and apply even pressure to ensure full contact and conforming to surface irregularities. Reassemble the device and verify secure mounting of the heatsink to maintain consistent thermal contact.
Use the GP-Extreme for thin gaps up to approximately 0.5 mm; for larger clearances consider thicker pads. Avoid stretching the pad during installation and ensure surfaces are free of conductive debris. Check mechanical mounting periodically in high-vibration environments to maintain thermal performance.
