Gelid Extreme thermal pad is a pre-cut thermal interface material supplied as two 80×40×1.0 mm pieces designed to improve heat transfer between electronic components and heatsinks. The pad provides a conformable, electrically insulating layer that fills surface irregularities and air gaps, ensuring more consistent thermal contact for CPUs, GPUs, memory modules, power components and other heat-generating parts. Its 1.0 mm thickness is intended for moderate gap bridging where a soft, compliant thermal interface is required.
The Gelid Extreme thermal pad offers reliable thermal conduction while remaining electrically insulating. Pre-cut dimensions simplify installation and reduce trimming time. The pad’s compliant structure conforms to uneven surfaces to minimize thermal resistance caused by air pockets. Supplied as two pieces, it enables use on multiple components or redundant coverage in a single cooling system.
Ensure both mating surfaces are clean and free from dust, grease or thermal compound residues. Remove protective liners from the thermal pad and position each pre-cut piece so it covers the component and contacts the heatsink evenly. Apply moderate pressure to seat the pad and eliminate trapped air; avoid stretching or tearing the pad. If trimming is necessary, use a sharp blade and measure carefully to maintain full contact over the component area.
Use the thermal pad for gaps where 1.0 mm thickness is appropriate; for very small gaps or direct die contact, consider a thinner interface material. Replace the pad if removed, as reuse can reduce performance. Store unused pads in a dry, dust-free environment away from direct sunlight.
