The Gembird AUSI01 adapter provides USB to Parallel ATA (IDE) and Serial ATA (SATA) connectivity, allowing 2.5" and 3.5" drives to be used as removable storage on any computer. It supports IDE and SATA storage devices including 2.5" or 3.5" hard drives as well as optical drives such as CD and DVD drives. A power adapter for the drive is included, and data throughput reaches real speeds up to approximately 30 MB/s, limited by the USB 2.0 interface and the attached drive's capability.
