Audio Converter Gembird DSC-OPT-RCA-001 Black
The Audio Converter Gembird DSC-OPT-RCA-001 Black converts digital optical (Toslink) audio signals to analogue RCA (Cinch) outputs. It supports sample frequencies of 32, 44.1, 48 and 96 kHz and is powered by a 5 V supply with a typical power consumption of 0.5 W. With compact dimensions of 41 x 41 x 26 mm and a lightweight 78 g construction in black finish, the adapter is intended to integrate cleanly into home audio systems, televisions, set-top boxes and other devices that require a simple digital-to-analogue conversion.
The converter offers straightforward digital-to-analogue signal conversion without the need for complex setup or drivers. Support for multiple common sample rates including 96 kHz preserves audio fidelity for higher-resolution sources. Its small footprint and low power consumption make it suitable for installations with limited space or where continuous operation is required. The black exterior provides a neutral appearance that blends with most AV equipment.
This converter performs basic digital-to-analogue conversion and does not include advanced DSP features, volume control or multi-channel decoding such as full discrete surround processing. It is intended for stereo analogue output via RCA; it will not provide multi-channel analogue outputs for formats like 5.1 without additional equipment.
Connect an optical (Toslink) cable from the digital audio source to the converter's input. Connect RCA cables from the converter's analogue outputs to the amplifier, receiver or powered speakers. Provide a 5 V power supply to the converter using the included adapter or a compatible power source. Select the appropriate input on the receiving device and set the source device to output digital audio via its optical port. Confirm audio playback and adjust volume on the receiving equipment as needed.
For best results use quality optical and RCA cables and place the converter close to the receiving device to minimise cable lengths. Ensure the source device is set to output PCM or compatible digital audio formats if the receiving equipment does not support encoded bitstreams.
