KNX switching and blind actuator Gira 503800, 16 outputs (16 A) / 8 outputs (16 A)
Gira 503800 is a KNX switching and blind actuator combining 16 switching channels and 8 blind/covering channels, each channel rated for up to 16 A. The device integrates into KNX building automation to control lighting circuits and motor-driven shutters or blinds from a central bus system, suitable for both residential and commercial installations.
The actuator provides a high channel density—16 switching outputs and 8 blind outputs—reducing the need for multiple devices and saving DIN-rail space. All outputs support loads up to 16 A, allowing direct control of many lighting and motor loads. Integration with the KNX bus enables centralized control, scenes and automation while maintaining compatibility with standard KNX tools.
Install the actuator in a distribution cabinet on DIN-rail according to local electrical regulations and Gira wiring diagrams. Connect the KNX bus and configure the device in ETS to assign group addresses for switching and blind control. Wire the loads to the appropriate switching outputs and connect motors for blinds to the blind outputs. After addressing and parameterisation in ETS, test each channel and integrate the actuator into scenes and automated functions as required.
Ensure wiring and installation are performed by a qualified electrician. Verify load types and inrush currents for connected motors and lamps, and use appropriate protection devices. Keep ETS project backups and follow Gira technical documentation for parameter settings.
