Godox SB1010 Mini Softbox for Speedlite Flash Universal Type

The Godox SB1010 Mini Softbox for Speedlite Flash Universal Type is a compact 10x10 cm lighting modifier engineered specifically for speedlite flashes. This portable device is designed to soften and diffuse direct, harsh light output from your camera flash, helping to minimize sharp shadows and eliminate strong hotspots on your subjects. By distributing the light more evenly, it creates a smoother, more flattering illumination that enhances both portrait and macro photography.

Advantages

Using the Godox SB1010 mini softbox significantly improves the quality of on-camera or off-camera flash photography without the need for bulky studio equipment. Its compact size ensures it adds minimal weight and bulk to your camera setup, making it exceptionally easy to handle during fast-paced shoots. The universal mount design allows for quick and secure attachment to a wide variety of standard speedlite flashes. Additionally, the durable diffusion material ensures consistent light output while maintaining accurate color temperature across your frames.

Suitable for

• Macro photography and close-up subject capturing
• On-the-go portrait photography and candid shots
• Event photography where space and mobility are critical
• Tabletop and product photography requiring soft fill light

When it may not be suitable

This mini softbox may not be suitable for large group portraits or wide-angle environmental shots where a broader spread of diffused light is required. Because of its 10x10 cm dimensions, the softening effect is limited when working at greater distances from the subject.

Key specifications

• Dimensions: 10 x 10 cm
• Compatibility: Universal type for speedlite flashes
• Primary function: Light softening and diffusion
• Design: Compact and portable form factor

How to use

Attach the mini softbox securely to the head of your compatible speedlite flash using the built-in mounting mechanism, ensuring it covers the flash window completely. Position the flash facing your subject directly or angle it according to your desired lighting direction. Test your exposure settings and adjust the flash power output to compensate for the light absorption of the diffusion material before capturing your final images.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your flash unit dimensions are compatible with a universal mini softbox attachment
• Assess your primary photography subjects to ensure a 10x10 cm diffusion area meets your lighting requirements

Usage recommendations: Store the softbox flat in your camera bag when not in use to prevent creasing of the diffusion fabric, and gently wipe the exterior with a dry cloth to remove dust.
