Hotshoe riser Godox TR-C for Canon cameras, TTL-compatible accessory TR-C

Godox TR-C hotshoe riser for Canon is a compact accessory designed to raise the camera hotshoe while preserving TTL compatibility. The riser repositions an on-camera flash or wireless trigger higher above the camera body to improve lighting angle, reduce the risk of lens obstruction, and provide a clearer line of sight for TTL metering and radio signals. The TR-C is compatible with Canon hotshoe systems and is intended for photographers who need a simple mechanical solution to change flash placement without losing automatic exposure communication.

Advantages

The TR-C riser elevates the flash position to prevent shadows cast by large lenses and to create more natural falloff on subjects. It keeps TTL communication intact so automatic flash exposure and E-TTL functions remain available when using supported Canon flashes and triggers. The lightweight, compact design minimizes added bulk and weight while offering a stable mount for a variety of shoe-mounted units. The unit also improves wireless line-of-sight for triggers and can help avoid physical interference between lens hoods and flashes.

Suitable for

• Portrait sessions where a higher flash position is needed to shape facial lighting
• Event and wedding photography to reduce shadows caused by wide or telephoto lenses
• On-location shoots where restricted space or lens size obstructs the camera hotshoe
• Situations requiring improved wireless trigger line-of-sight and reduced radio signal blockage

Key specifications

• Compatibility: Canon hotshoe systems with TTL communication
• Function: elevates camera hotshoe for flash or trigger mounting while retaining TTL
• Material: durable lightweight construction for minimal added weight
• Mount type: shoe mount interface for camera and flash/trigger attachment
• Form factor: compact riser profile to improve flash angle without significant bulk

How to use

Attach the Godox TR-C to the camera hotshoe by sliding it into place and securing it according to the unit's locking mechanism. Mount the flash or wireless trigger into the riser's top shoe and ensure it is locked. Power on the camera and flash or trigger; the TTL circuit will pass through so the camera can communicate exposure information to the mounted device. Confirm proper connection by checking that the camera recognizes the attached flash or trigger and by taking test exposures to verify correct TTL behavior.

Usage recommendations

Use the riser with compatible Canon TTL flashes and triggers to maintain E-TTL functionality. Verify secure mechanical locking before each shoot and test TTL operation in different lighting conditions. Avoid excessive torque on the mounted flash to prevent stress on the camera hotshoe; consider supporting heavy flashes with a bracket or hand support if needed.
