Product information

Description

The Goobay 72008 video cable adapter is a compact HDMI Type A female coupler in a slim metal housing with Sharkskin Grey finish and black-silver coloration. It links two HDMI cables to form a longer connection or can be used as a gender changer to convert an HDMI plug into a receptacle. The adapter is CE and WEEE certified and designed for simple, reliable signal pass-through between HDMI devices.

Advantages

This HDMI Type A adapter offers a space-saving metal design that resists wear and provides stable mechanical connection of HDMI cables. It allows users to extend cable length without buying a longer single cable and supports straightforward conversion between plug and port. The unit's certifications ensure compliance with common safety and disposal standards.

Suitable for

Extending the reach of two HDMI cables
Converting an HDMI plug to an HDMI port (gender changer)
Temporary or permanent HDMI connections between TVs, monitors, PCs, game consoles, and AV receivers

How to use

Insert the male HDMI connector of the first cable into one side of the adapter and the male HDMI connector of the second cable into the other side until each connector seats securely. For gender-changing use, plug the male connector you wish to convert into the adapter’s female port and then connect a male-to-male HDMI cable or device as required. Ensure both connected cables and devices are powered off when making connections to avoid signal issues.

Usage recommendations

For best results, use high-quality HDMI cables of matching specification (e.g., HDMI 1.4, 2.0) to maintain signal integrity. Avoid using multiple chained couplers and keep cable runs within recommended lengths for the HDMI specification you require.
