External hard drive adapter GOOBAY 72013 — USB 3.0 to 2.5/3.5" IDE & SATA
GOOBAY 72013 is an external hard drive adapter that connects 2.5" and 3.5" IDE and SATA hard drives to a computer using a USB 3.0 interface. The adapter provides a plug-and-play solution for accessing internal drives externally, enabling data transfer, cloning, backup and recovery tasks without requiring internal installation. It supports both laptop (2.5") and desktop (3.5") form factors with the appropriate power and data connections exposed through a single compact adapter unit.
The adapter delivers USB 3.0 data throughput for faster transfers compared with USB 2.0 when used with compatible hosts, while maintaining backward compatibility with USB 2.0 ports. It supports both IDE (PATA) and SATA interfaces, allowing the same adapter to be used with a wide range of legacy and modern drives. The external design reduces the need to open a PC or laptop chassis, speeding up tasks such as file migration, drive imaging and forensic access. A separate power supply or integrated power provision for 3.5" drives ensures stable operation for higher-power desktop drives.
Connect the adapter to the target hard drive by attaching the appropriate IDE or SATA connector to the drive's data and power interfaces. If connecting a 3.5" drive, attach the external power source or enable the adapter's power output before connecting to the computer. Plug the USB 3.0 cable into a matching USB port on the host computer; the system should recognize the drive as an external storage device. Use standard file manager tools, cloning software or backup utilities on the host to transfer, image or access the drive contents. Safely eject the device from the operating system before disconnecting cables.
Use a USB 3.0 host port for optimal transfer speeds and ensure the adapter's power connection is used for 3.5" drives to avoid instability. Handle drives on a static-free surface and avoid disconnecting during active data transfers to prevent data corruption. For repeated diagnostic or cloning tasks, verify software compatibility with USB mass storage devices and keep backups of critical data before performing write operations.
