The alloy composition is 95.8% tin, 3.5% silver and 0.7% copper with an integrated rosin flux core (2.5% flux content). The solder has a melting/flow temperature of approximately 217 °C and is supplied on a compact 12.5 g spool, making it suitable for hobbyists, field repairs and precise work on small components.

How to use

Prepare the surfaces to be soldered by cleaning them from oxidation and contaminants. Use an appropriately tipped soldering iron set to a temperature above the melting/flow point (typically 250–320 °C depending on the joint size and equipment) and heat the joint evenly. Feed the GOOBAY 51121 solder wire to the heated joint, allowing the solder to flow and wet the surfaces. Remove the solder wire and then the soldering iron once a smooth fillet has formed. Allow the joint to cool naturally without disturbance.

Usage recommendations

For best results, work in a well-ventilated area or use local extraction to limit exposure to flux fumes. Use appropriate personal protection such as safety glasses. If no-clean flux residues are a concern for specific high-reliability assemblies, inspect and, if necessary, clean the joint with a suitable solvent or flux remover specified for rosin flux residues.
