The Helukabel PG16 polyamide cable gland is a robust solution designed for secure cable entry and effective strain relief in various electrical enclosures. Engineered to provide a reliable seal, this component ensures that cables with a diameter between 10mm and 14mm are held firmly in place while maintaining the integrity of the enclosure. Its light grey polyamide construction offers excellent resistance to environmental factors, making it a dependable choice for both industrial and commercial electrical installations.
Advantages
This cable gland stands out due to its high-performance IP68 protection rating, which guarantees that the connection is completely dust-tight and protected against water immersion. The inclusion of a matching locknut simplifies the installation process, ensuring a secure fit that prevents the gland from loosening due to vibrations or mechanical stress. By providing effective strain relief, it significantly reduces the risk of cable damage at the entry point, thereby extending the lifespan of your electrical connections and enhancing overall system safety.
Suitable for
- Industrial control panels and electrical cabinets
- Outdoor junction boxes requiring moisture protection
- Commercial electrical installations
- Machinery and equipment wiring
This product may not be suitable for applications involving extreme chemical exposure or high-temperature environments that exceed the thermal limits of standard polyamide materials. It is also not intended for use with cables outside the specified 10-14mm diameter range, as this would compromise the IP68 sealing effectiveness.
Key specifications
- Thread size: PG16
- Cable diameter range: 10-14mm
- Protection rating: IP68
- Material: Polyamide
- Thread length: 10mm
- Color: Light grey
- Includes: Locknut
To install the Helukabel PG16 cable gland, first insert the gland body through the pre-drilled hole in your enclosure wall. Secure it firmly from the inside using the provided locknut. Once the gland is fixed, feed the cable through the opening and tighten the dome nut until the internal seal compresses evenly around the cable jacket, ensuring a snug and waterproof fit.
What to consider before purchase
- Verify that your enclosure hole size matches the PG16 standard
- Ensure the cable diameter falls strictly within the 10-14mm range
- Check if the environmental conditions are compatible with polyamide material
For optimal performance and to maintain the IP68 rating, ensure that the dome nut is tightened sufficiently to create a uniform seal around the cable. Avoid over-tightening, which could potentially damage the plastic threads.
