Helukabel KM-EMV EMC Brass Locknut M63 x 1.5
The Helukabel KM-EMV EMC brass locknut M63 x 1.5 is a high-performance component engineered for the secure installation of EMC cable glands in demanding industrial environments. Constructed from nickel-plated brass, this locknut is specifically designed to maintain electrical continuity and electromagnetic compatibility. It features integrated cutting edges that effectively penetrate painted surfaces, ensuring a reliable metal-to-metal contact necessary for proper grounding and equipotential bonding.
This locknut offers superior mechanical stability and enhanced vibration resistance, making it an ideal choice for machinery and equipment subject to constant movement or harsh operating conditions. The nickel-plated brass construction provides excellent corrosion resistance and durability, ensuring a long service life even in challenging environments. By facilitating a secure and conductive connection, it helps maintain the integrity of shielded cable systems, effectively reducing electromagnetic interference.
This locknut is designed specifically for M63 x 1.5 threaded applications and will not fit cable glands with different thread sizes or types. It is intended for use with metallic or conductive surfaces where equipotential bonding is required and may be unnecessary for simple, non-shielded plastic cable installations.
To install the Helukabel KM-EMV locknut, slide the cable gland through the mounting hole of the enclosure. Thread the locknut onto the gland from the inside of the housing. Tighten the locknut firmly using an appropriate spanner. The integrated cutting edges will automatically bite into the surface of the enclosure as you tighten, establishing the required electrical contact for effective EMC shielding and grounding.
For optimal electromagnetic compatibility, ensure that the contact surface is free from heavy debris or non-conductive coatings that might prevent the cutting edges from establishing a solid electrical connection.
