Hensel AKM 20 Cable Gland M20 Polyamide White
The Hensel AKM 20 is a high-quality M20 cable gland engineered for secure cable entry and effective strain relief in electrical installations. Constructed from durable, halogen-free polyamide, this component provides a reliable seal and robust protection for cables passing through enclosures. Its design ensures that electrical connections remain stable and protected against environmental factors, making it an essential component for maintaining the integrity of wiring systems in both residential and industrial settings.
This cable gland offers exceptional durability and safety, featuring a high glow wire test rating of 960 °C, which ensures fire safety in demanding conditions. The inclusion of a locknut and integrated strain relief simplifies the installation process while preventing mechanical stress on the cable. With an IP66/IP67 protection rating, it effectively prevents the ingress of dust and water, ensuring long-term reliability even in harsh environments. The halogen-free material composition further enhances its suitability for modern safety-conscious electrical projects.
This cable gland is designed for specific M20 knockouts and may not be compatible with enclosures requiring different thread sizes or types. It is not intended for use in environments where the ambient temperature exceeds the specified range of -25 °C to +55 °C.
To install the Hensel AKM 20, insert the gland body through the 20.3 mm knockout hole of your enclosure. Secure it firmly from the inside using the provided locknut. Feed the cable through the gland until it reaches the desired position, then tighten the outer cap to compress the internal seal around the cable jacket. This action simultaneously secures the cable and creates a watertight, dust-tight seal.
For optimal performance and to maintain the IP66/IP67 rating, ensure the outer cap is tightened sufficiently to create a uniform seal around the cable. Avoid over-tightening, which could damage the polyamide threads.
