IP security camera Hikvision DS-2CD2123G2-LIS2U (2.8 mm) — 6 MP dome, PoE, IR 30 m, WDR 120 dB, microSD up to 512 GB
The Hikvision DS-2CD2123G2-LIS2U is a dome IP security camera with a 2.8 mm lens and a 6 MP progressive CMOS sensor designed for indoor and outdoor surveillance. The camera supports Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) for simplified cabling, offers Wide Dynamic Range (120 dB) for balanced images in scenes with mixed lighting, and provides day/night functionality with IR and white LEDs to enable night vision up to 30 meters. The compact, vandal-resistant aluminium housing meets IP67 and IK10 ratings and includes on-board microSD storage support up to 512 GB for local recording.
The camera delivers high-resolution 6 MP video at up to 30 fps, enabling clear detail for identification and evidence. Built-in analytics such as motion detection, intrusion detection and line-crossing detection reduce false alarms and support automated monitoring. Network security features include HTTPS, IP address filtering and password protection, while ONVIF and common APIs ensure compatibility with third-party NVRs and VMS. PoE support and a single RJ45 port simplify installation and power management.
Mount the dome camera on a suitable ceiling or wall bracket using the included mounting points and ensure the camera is positioned to cover the desired field of view. Connect the camera to the network using the RJ45 port; if using PoE, connect to a PoE switch or injector to provide power and network over a single cable. Configure the camera through its web-based interface or compatible VMS/NVR using ONVIF or the provided APIs, set up motion, intrusion and line-crossing rules as required, and insert a microSD card for local recording if desired. Apply HTTPS and password protection and configure IP filtering for improved network security.
For reliable night-time identification, position the camera so the primary area of interest lies within the central portion of the lens field and avoid pointing directly at strong light sources. Use PoE for simpler installation and place the camera where the IP67 and IK10 ratings protect it from weather and tampering. Regularly check firmware updates and verify microSD health if local recording is enabled.
