IP bullet security camera Hikvision DS-2CD1623G0-IZ, 2.8–12 mm varifocal, 1920×1080, outdoor, ceiling/wall mount
Hikvision DS-2CD1623G0-IZ is a wired IP bullet security camera designed for outdoor perimeter, entrance and parking surveillance. The camera delivers Full HD 1920×1080 resolution using a 1/2.8" CMOS sensor and a 2.8–12 mm varifocal lens that provides a wide horizontal field of view up to approximately 98° at the 2.8 mm setting. With a frame rate of up to 30 fps and a minimum illumination of 0.01 lx, the unit captures clear daytime and low-light video. Its white weather-resistant housing supports ceiling or wall mounting and allows flexible installation angles with 360° rotation capability.
The camera combines Full HD resolution with a varifocal lens to offer flexible framing from wide-angle to moderate telephoto without sacrificing image detail. Wired Ethernet connectivity ensures stable video transmission and integration with standard IP video recorders. Compact bullet form factor and a weather-resistant exterior make it suitable for outdoor use, while its relatively low minimum illumination enables useful surveillance in dim lighting. Ceiling and wall mounting options increase placement flexibility for different surveillance scenarios.
Install the camera on a stable ceiling or wall surface using the included mounting hardware, orienting the varifocal lens to achieve the desired field of view. Connect the device to a PoE-capable switch or to a power source and Ethernet network as required by your installation. Configure IP settings and video parameters through the camera’s web interface or compatible network video recorder software, adjusting exposure, white balance, and resolution to match lighting conditions. Use the lens’ focal adjustment to set wide-angle coverage or tighter framing as needed.
For reliable outdoor performance, mount the camera under eaves or install a small shelter to reduce direct exposure to rain and sun. Use a PoE switch or injector rated for outdoor camera deployments to simplify power and network cabling. When monitoring low-light areas, verify image quality after adjustments and consider complementary scene lighting if identification at night is required.
