Dome IP security camera Hikvision DS-2CD2147G2-L 2688×1520, 2.8 mm, outdoor, ceiling/wall mount
Hikvision DS-2CD2147G2-L is a dome IP security camera intended for outdoor ceiling or wall installation. It records video at 2688×1520 resolution and up to 30 fps using a 1/1.8" CMOS sensor and a 2.8 mm fixed lens that provides a 112° horizontal field of view. The camera supports wired Ethernet connectivity, 355° rotation capability for flexible pointing, built-in video motion detection and a white exterior suitable for discreet mounting on light-coloured surfaces. Detection, observation and recognition ranges are approximately 58 m, 23 m and 11 m respectively, making the unit appropriate for perimeter and site surveillance tasks.
The camera combines a high-resolution 2688×1520 image sensor with a wide-angle 2.8 mm lens to deliver clear coverage of outdoor areas while maintaining a compact dome form factor for ceiling or wall mounting. Wired Ethernet ensures stable network connectivity and continuous power when used with PoE-compatible switches or injectors, and the camera’s motion detection reduces the need for constant manual monitoring. Weather-resistant placement support and a 355° rotation range allow installers to adapt the viewing direction to varied site layouts.
Install the dome camera on a stable ceiling or wall surface using appropriate anchors and screws for the mounting substrate. Connect the camera to a network switch or PoE injector via an Ethernet cable to provide both data and power if Power-over-Ethernet is available; alternatively use a compatible power adapter according to installation guidelines. After physical installation, access the camera through the provided network interface to configure IP settings, frame rate, detection zones and recording preferences. Position the camera by adjusting its rotation to achieve the desired coverage and verify the field of view at the chosen resolution and frame rate.
For reliable outdoor operation, mount the camera under an overhang or use a weatherproof junction box where extreme exposure is possible. Use PoE-capable networking equipment to simplify power and cabling, and configure motion detection zones to reduce false alerts from traffic or vegetation. Regularly check firmware updates and perform periodic lens cleaning and mounting checks to maintain image quality and mechanical stability.
