IP security camera Hikvision DS-2CD2546G2-IS Dome Outdoor
The Hikvision DS-2CD2546G2-IS Dome Outdoor is an outdoor IP security camera that captures images at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. Designed in a compact dome form factor with white housing, the camera supports ceiling or wall mounting and wired Ethernet connectivity. With a fixed 2.8 mm focal length and a horizontal viewing angle of 103°, it delivers wide-area coverage while maintaining image detail at up to 30 fps. The device is engineered for low-light conditions with a minimum illumination of 0.03 lx and offers a 360° rotation angle for flexible orientation during installation.
The camera combines high-resolution imaging and a wide horizontal lens viewing angle to enable clear monitoring of outdoor areas. Wired Ethernet ensures stable network connection and consistent frame rate performance. The dome design and support for ceiling or wall mounting simplify installation and provide discreet placement. Built-in video motion detection helps reduce storage and bandwidth by triggering recording only when motion is detected.
Mount the dome camera on a suitable ceiling or wall surface using the provided mounting points and hardware. Connect the camera to a PoE-capable switch or to a power source and wired Ethernet network to enable video streaming and remote access. Configure the camera through Hikvision-compatible management software or a network video recorder (NVR) to set resolution, frame rate, network settings and motion detection zones. Position the camera to utilize the 103° horizontal viewing angle and adjust orientation using the 360° rotation to cover the desired field of view.
For reliable outdoor performance, install the camera under an overhang or use weatherproof sealing at the cable entry if exposed to direct rain. Use PoE for simplified power and data delivery and configure motion detection sensitivity and recording schedules to optimize storage. Regularly check lens cleanliness and firmware updates to maintain image quality and security.
