Bullet IP security camera Hikvision DS-2CD2646G2-IZSU/SL, 2592×1944, 2.8–12 mm lens, 30 fps, outdoor, ceiling/wall mount, white
The Hikvision DS-2CD2646G2-IZSU/SL is a wired bullet IP security camera designed for outdoor monitoring with ceiling or wall mounting. It captures video at a maximum resolution of 2592×1944 and up to 30 fps using a 1/2.7" CMOS sensor. The camera features an adjustable 2.8–12 mm varifocal lens providing a wide horizontal field of view (approximately 107.7° at the shortest focal length) and supports Ethernet LAN connectivity and video motion detection for automated event triggering. Its white housing and robust mounting options make it suitable for façade, entrance or perimeter surveillance installations.
The camera delivers high-resolution imaging (2592×1944) at 30 fps, enabling detailed scene capture and smoother motion reproduction. The 2.8–12 mm varifocal lens allows flexible framing from wide-angle to moderate telephoto, reducing the need for multiple fixed lenses. Low-light sensitivity down to 0.003 lx improves performance in dim environments. Wired Ethernet connectivity ensures stable network transmission and power over the network when PoE is available. Ceiling and wall mounting capability, combined with an outdoor-rated enclosure, provides installation flexibility for different surveillance scenarios.
Mount the camera on a stable ceiling or wall surface using appropriate anchors and ensure the device is oriented to cover the intended scene. Connect the camera to the network via Ethernet; if a Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch or injector is available, it can provide power and data over a single cable. Configure the camera using Hikvision’s web interface or compatible network video recorder (NVR) software, set the desired resolution and frame rate (up to 2592×1944 at 30 fps), and adjust the varifocal lens to frame the area of interest. Enable video motion detection and configure recording or alert rules according to monitoring needs.
For reliable outdoor operation, install the camera under a protective overhang where possible, seal cable entries against moisture, and use a PoE switch to simplify power and network cabling. Regularly verify firmware updates and configure motion detection zones to reduce false alarms from moving foliage or traffic.
