IP security camera Hikvision DS-2CD2T87G2H-LI(4MM)(EF)(O-STD) Bullet
The Hikvision DS-2CD2T87G2H-LI(4MM)(EF)(O-STD) Bullet is an 8 MP outdoor IP security camera that delivers 3840 x 2160 resolution in a bullet form factor. Designed for wall mounting and wired Ethernet connectivity, the camera incorporates a CMOS sensor and ColorVu hybrid-light technology to provide clear color images in a wide range of lighting conditions. With a horizontal field of view of 90° and a vertical field of view of 45.8°, plus a reported detection distance of up to 109 m, it supports extended-area monitoring for residential, commercial, and perimeter security applications.
This Hikvision bullet camera offers high-resolution 8 MP imaging to capture fine detail while keeping bandwidth and storage considerations in mind. The ColorVu hybrid-light capability improves low-light color performance compared with traditional IR-only devices. A 360° rotation capability and a 90° horizontal / 45.8° vertical viewing angle give flexible coverage options for wall-mounted installations. Wired Ethernet connectivity ensures stable network performance and compatibility with standard IP video systems, and integrated video motion detection supports automated event handling.
Mount the camera on a suitable exterior wall using the provided mounting interface, ensuring the chosen location provides the desired field of view and clearance for the 4 mm lens. Connect the device to a network switch or PoE-enabled port using a quality Ethernet cable for power and data, or follow your system design for separate power if required. Configure the camera through Hikvision management software or a compatible NVR to set resolution, frame rate, motion-detection zones, and recording schedules. Verify detection range and adjust orientation by rotating the camera housing within its mounting bracket to achieve the intended coverage.
For reliable long-term outdoor performance, install the camera under an overhang where possible, use shielded outdoor-rated Ethernet cabling, and configure motion detection sensitivity to match the site environment to reduce false alarms. Regularly check firmware updates from the manufacturer and integrate the camera into a secure network architecture with proper access controls.
