Internal hard drive HP HPE 862132-001 — 2 TB, 7200 RPM, 3.5" SATA
Internal 3.5" HDD HP HPE 862132-001 provides 2 TB of storage capacity with a 7200 RPM spindle speed and a Serial ATA (6 Gb/s) interface. Designed for server and workstation environments, this 3.5" SATA drive is intended for primary or secondary high-capacity storage, backups and bulk data repositories where consistent throughput and compatibility with standard SATA bays are required. The drive is part of HPE Server Midline family, tuned for predictable performance and compatibility with HPE ProLiant platforms and common management tools.
The 2 TB, 7200 RPM design balances capacity and performance for bulk storage tasks while the 6 Gb/s SATA interface supports conventional server and desktop SATA backplanes. HPE qualification and firmware optimization improve interoperability and reliability in supported systems, and features such as SMART support and HPE-driven firmware updates contribute to predictable operation and easier maintenance. The drive’s 3.5" form factor simplifies integration into standard LFF drive bays used in many servers and workstations.
Install the 3.5" SATA drive into a compatible drive bay or carrier following your server or workstation manufacturer’s instructions. Connect the SATA data and power cables to the appropriate connectors on the motherboard or backplane. Configure the drive in the system BIOS/UEFI or RAID controller as required for your storage layout (single disk, RAID array or as part of a tiered storage configuration). Use HPE Systems Insight Manager or your preferred monitoring tool to verify SMART attributes and firmware status, and apply HPE firmware updates where applicable to maintain compatibility and reliability.
For optimal reliability, use this drive in environments where airflow and operating temperatures meet server vendor specifications, and incorporate regular monitoring and firmware maintenance. When used in RAID arrays or mixed-storage systems, match rotational speed and capacity where possible to avoid performance or rebuild inconsistencies. Use the drive as midline/bulk storage rather than for write-intensive high IOPS workloads.
