Product information

Description

The HP DesignJet T1600drps 36-inch large format colour printer is engineered to meet the demanding requirements of business professionals who rely on precise technical drawings, detailed maps, and vibrant graphics. Offering a maximum resolution of 2400 x 1200 DPI and a reliable 6-cartridge ink system, this robust device delivers exceptional clarity, fine lines, and accurate colour reproduction. Built for efficiency in professional environments, it seamlessly handles media up to A0 size and supports a wide variety of paper types including bond, glossy, matte, photo, and coated media.

Advantages

This large format printer provides superior print quality with sharp text and smooth colour gradients, ensuring professional presentation standards for every project. The 6-cartridge system utilises distinct printing colours such as photo black, matte black, cyan, magenta, yellow, and grey to optimise contrast and depth. Furthermore, built-in mobile printing support allows users to send jobs directly from their devices for streamlined workplace productivity.

Suitable for

  • Printing architectural blueprints and engineering technical drawings
  • Producing high-resolution geographic information systems maps
  • Creating large-scale marketing materials, posters, and business graphics

When it may not be suitable

This device is not designed for high-volume office document printing such as standard everyday text reports or small-format office paperwork. It is specifically optimised for large-format media up to A0 size and may not be cost-effective or practical for general office administrative tasks.

Key specifications

  • Maximum resolution: 2400 x 1200 DPI
  • Printing colours: Photo black, grey, yellow, magenta, matte black, cyan
  • Number of print cartridges: 6
  • Supported page description languages: PostScript 3, PDF 1.7, HP-GL/2, TIFF, JPEG, HP-RTL, CALS G4
  • Compatible media types: Glossy paper, bond paper, photo paper, matte paper, heavy paper, satin paper, semi-glossy paper, coated paper
  • Mobile printing technology: HP ePrint

How to use

Load the appropriate media roll or sheet into the paper tray, ensuring the correct paper type is selected in the printer settings. Send your print job using compatible page description languages such as PostScript 3, PDF 1.7, or HP-GL/2 from your computer or via mobile printing technologies. Monitor the printing process through the control interface and retrieve your completed large-format documents once finished.

What to consider before purchase

  • Ensure adequate physical space in your office for a 36-inch large format device
  • Verify that your typical workloads align with large-format technical or graphic printing requirements
  • Check compatibility with your existing software environment and preferred page description languages
Usage recommendations: Regularly run maintenance cycles and use genuine HP print cartridges to maintain optimal print quality and extend the operational lifespan of the printer. Store compatible media in a dry, climate-controlled environment to prevent paper warping and feeding issues.
