The solution begins with a fully functional 3U base unit that supports up to three half-height LTO drives and can be expanded with additional modules to reach a maximum configuration of 48U, supporting up to 640 cartridges and 48 half-height LTO tape drives for up to 28.8 PB of compressed storage. The library includes data encryption, WORM support, and remote management, and provides an air-gapped option to reduce ransomware risk. The HPE Smart Choice purchase program offers the MSL3040 preconfigured with LTO-9 FC or SAS interfaces through authorized HPE partners.
