Geotextile Underlay HP Planet Pool O 3.6m for Steel Pool, 200 g/m², square 3.8 m x 3.8 m
Geotextile Underlay HP Planet Pool O 3.6m for Steel Pool is a non-woven protective fabric designed to be placed between the ground and the pool liner of above-ground steel pools. With a weight of 200 g/m² and supplied as a square 3.8 m x 3.8 m, this underlay provides a consistent barrier that reduces direct contact with rough or uneven substrates, helps prevent liner punctures and limits abrasion caused by small stones, roots or irregularities in the installation area.
The 200 g/m² non-woven structure offers a balance between flexibility and durability, making it easy to lay under circular or slightly irregular pool bases while still providing sufficient protective thickness. Its square 3.8 m x 3.8 m size covers the area underneath a 3.6 m diameter pool with overlap, simplifying installation and ensuring continuous protection. The fabric is lightweight, resistant to tearing during handling and does not retain water, helping to maintain the liner in better condition and extend its service life.
This geotextile underlay is intended as a protective layer for above-ground steel pools and is not designed to replace structural base preparations such as concrete pads or engineered foundations. It does not provide significant load-bearing capacity and will not correct major ground slope or large protruding objects; these should be removed or addressed before laying the underlay. For in-ground pools or installations requiring heavy-duty sub-base stabilization, a different, purpose-made foundation solution should be chosen.
Prepare the ground by removing stones, roots and sharp objects and level the area as much as practical. Unfold the geotextile underlay centered on the prepared location so that it extends beyond the pool edge; the 3.8 m x 3.8 m size is designed to cover the area for a 3.6 m diameter pool with a margin. Smooth out folds and creases, overlap seams if using multiple pieces, and trim only if necessary to avoid exposing the liner to underlying irregularities. Place the pool liner and install pool walls according to the pool manufacturer’s instructions on top of the underlay.
For best results, lay the geotextile on a clean, level surface and ensure any sharp objects are removed before placing the pool liner. When placing multiple sheets, overlap by at least 10–20 cm to maintain continuous protection beneath the liner. Follow the pool manufacturer's installation steps after underlay placement to avoid shifting the fabric during assembly.
