Constructed from full metal with a black finish, the panel integrates a 30 x 30 x 10 mm cooling fan and supports SATA III and SAS II 6 Gbit/s interfaces. The unit supports hot-swap operation and is supplied with a SATA cable with securing clip for straightforward installation and connection.

How to use

Install the IB-148SSK-B into a free 5.25" bay following standard chassis mounting procedures and secure it with the supplied thumbscrews or mounting screws. Connect the included SATA cable to the internal SATA/SAS controller on the motherboard or host adapter and ensure the cable is secured with the clip. Insert compatible 2.5" or 3.5" drives into the tray, secure them with the thumbscrews and lock the front panel if required. The integrated fan will run to provide airflow; drives may be inserted or replaced using the hot-swap function without powering down systems that support hot-swap on the host controller.

Usage recommendations

The panel is intended for use in systems with proper internal airflow and compatible host controllers that support hot-swap.
