The ICY BOX IB-166SSK-B is a black 3.5" HDD enclosure for installation in a 5.25" bay that supports SATA III and SAS drives and allows tool-free hot-swapping. The trayless mobile rack uses the Easy Swap® mechanism: after fitting the enclosure in a drive bay, open the front panel, insert a 3.5" hard drive and close the panel to secure the drive. The aluminium housing is fanless and includes rubber padding to reduce vibration and noise.

Advantages

Tool-free installation with Easy Swap® enables fast drive changes without screws or additional tools. A keyed front lock provides protection against unauthorized removal. Two LED rings indicate drive activity and status. The patented NSS (Non-Scratch-SATA) connector is rated for over 50,000 insertions, ensuring long-term reliability. The anodised aluminium construction is sturdy and the fanless design reduces dust intake and operating noise.
