It converts the smaller drive form factor to fit standard 3.5" bays and secures the drive inside the adapter with screws.

Advantages

The adapter provides a clean and compatible solution to install a 2.5" SATA drive into a 3.5" bay, supporting drive heights from 5 mm to 15 mm. Brass threaded inserts are used for the 3.5" mounting points, improving durability and allowing repeated installation and removal without thread wear. The compact unit measures 145 x 100 x 15 mm and weighs 67 g.
