The Icy Dock FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP is a 5.25" to 3.5"/2.5" front bay adapter that converts a single 5.25" device bay into one 3.5" bay plus two 2.5" HDD/SSD slots. Constructed from a single sturdy plastic open-frame design, the MB343SP is engineered for durability, passive cooling and flexible drive configurations while fitting standard 5.25" front bays.

The FLEX-FIT Trio offers a FLEX-FIT system that accepts a 3.5" device or drive and two 2.5" drives (7mm–9.5mm) in one 5.25" bay, reducing the need for additional brackets. Tool-less installation is provided for both the 3.5" and 2.5" positions: the Smart-Tip mechanism locks a 3.5" device into place with an audible click and the self-adjusting tabs secure 2.5" HDD/SSD drives without screws. The adapter’s single-piece construction minimizes moving parts, supports passive cooling and provides reliable long-term operation.

How to use

Install the MB343SP into a standard 5.25" front bay following your chassis instructions. For a 3.5" device, slide it into the 3.5" slot until the Smart-Tip clicks to lock it in place; if desired, secure with the optional side screws. For 2.5" HDD/SSD drives, insert each drive into a 2.5" slot — the self-adjusting tab will lock drives of 7mm–9.5mm height without tools. If installing a 3.5" device without a front I/O, remove the rear plate and snap it into the front panel opening so the front remains covered.

Usage recommendations

Use the adapter in well-ventilated chassis to take advantage of passive cooling. Verify drive heights (7mm–9.5mm) for 2.5" units before installation and consider optional side screws when installing heavier 3.5" devices for additional security.
