The Icy Dock ToughArmor MB411SPO-B is a full-metal 2.5" SATA/SAS mobile drive rack designed to install in a slim ODD or slim FDD bay. Its ultra-low-profile metal construction allows a single 2.5" HDD or SSD (7–9.5 mm height) to be hot-swapped while occupying minimal space, making it suitable for compact systems that require reliable, durable storage expansion.

Advantages

Constructed entirely from metal, the MB411SPO-B provides robust protection and long service life in demanding environments. The EZ Slide Micro removable tray supports hot-swap maintenance and secures drives with an eagle-hook lock. Active Power Technology powers the drive indicator only when a drive is present, while multi-flow and anti-vibration design improve cooling and mechanical stability. The unit supports SATA and single-channel SAS drives at up to 6 Gbps and uses locking 7-pin SATA connectors to prevent accidental cable disconnection.

How to use

Install the MB411SPO-B into a slim ODD bay directly; to fit a slim FDD bay remove the metal ODD bracket by unscrewing the three mounting screws and detach the bracket before installation. Slide a 7–9.5 mm 2.5" SATA or SAS drive into the EZ Slide Micro tray, close the latch to engage the eagle-hook lock, then insert the tray into the enclosure. Connect the system's SATA or SAS cable—locking SATA cables will secure to the 7-pin connector—and power on the system. The front LED indicates drive activity, and drives can be hot-swapped through the removable tray when required.

Usage recommendations

Use the MB411SPO-B in systems that require durable, compact storage expansion. For SAS drives ensure a compatible SAS host. Use locking SATA cables for secure connections and avoid inserting drives thicker than 9.5 mm.
