Black-and-white film Ilford DELTA 3200 35mm 36-exposure (ISO 3200)
Ilford DELTA 3200 35mm 36-exposure is an ultra high-speed black-and-white photographic film rated ISO 3200 and supplied in a 35mm (135) roll with 36 exposures. Designed for low-light and fast-action situations, this film uses ILFORD's DELTA core-shell crystal technology to deliver high sensitivity while preserving highlight detail and controlled grain structure. It is suitable for handheld shooting and can be push-processed for extended exposure latitude.
DELTA 3200 provides very high sensitivity for shooting in dim light or when fast shutter speeds are required, with a tonal range that preserves highlight information. The film’s core-shell emulsion offers unobtrusive grain and consistent tonality across a variety of lighting conditions. Its format—35mm, 36 exposures—makes it compatible with standard 35mm cameras and workflow for black-and-white development and scanning.
Load the 35mm film into a compatible 35mm camera according to the camera’s loading instructions. Expose at ISO 3200 for low-light conditions and fast shutter speeds; the film also responds well to push processing if higher effective sensitivity is required. Develop using black-and-white negative chemistry and processes recommended for high-speed emulsions, following manufacturer guidance for development times and agitation to control contrast and grain.
For optimal results, meter for the shadows or midtones when shooting in mixed lighting, and consider controlled push processing only when necessary. Use appropriate development controls to manage grain and contrast; scanning and digital post-processing can further refine tonal rendition and highlight detail.
