InLine 18742 Telephone Cable RJ-12 6P6C 2 m Grey

The InLine 18742 telephone cable with a length of 2 metres provides a reliable wired connection for analog communication devices. Equipped with RJ-12 6P6C connectors on both ends, this 6-core round cable ensures stable signal transmission for home and office setups. Featuring pure copper conductors and a flexible round form factor, it is designed for efficient routing along walls, baseboards, or inside cable ducts.

Advantages

The cable utilizes pure copper conductors with AWG26 specification to reduce line resistance and maintain consistent signal quality. Moulded RJ12 connectors enhance mechanical durability, protecting the connection against wear during frequent plugging and unplugging. The 6-wire full pinout enables utilization across all six contacts for applications requiring complete signal paths, while the round geometry facilitates neat cable management compared to standard flat cables.

Suitable for

• Connecting analog telephones to wall sockets or base units
• Linking fax machines for reliable document transmission
• Operating external modems in home or office environments
• Signal transmission in control and regulation systems
• Sensor technology and specialized signal-carrying equipment

When it may not be suitable

This cable is not designed for high-speed Ethernet data networking or structured local area network installations requiring RJ45 connections. It is also unsuitable for digital voice-over-IP telephone systems that rely on standard network patch cables rather than analog telephone lines.

Key specifications

• Cable length: 2 m
• Connector type: RJ-12 male to RJ-12 male
• Pinout: 6-core 6P6C fully pinned
• Conductor material: Pure copper
• Wire gauge: AWG 26
• Cable shape: Round
• Diameter: 4.3 mm
• Weight: 59 g
• Colour: Grey RAL 7035

How to use

Ensure that both devices intended for connection feature compatible RJ-12 ports. Take one end of the telephone cable and insert it firmly into the socket of the first device until the retaining clip clicks into place. Route the round cable carefully along baseboards, through cable channels, or behind furniture to avoid sharp bends or pinching. Take the opposite end of the cable and plug it into the corresponding RJ-12 port of the second device. To disconnect, press down gently on the plastic locking tab of the connector and pull straight out.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your devices require an RJ-12 6P6C connection rather than an RJ-11 or RJ-45 plug
• Check the required distance between your connected equipment to ensure the 2-metre length is sufficient
• Confirm whether your application requires a fully pinned 6-core configuration

Inspect the cable periodically for physical damage and ensure connectors are free from dust. Avoid laying the cable across high-traffic floor areas where it may be stepped on or subjected to heavy furniture weight, which could compromise signal integrity.
