The InLine 76662D is an internal PCI Express expansion card that adds three external and one internal USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) Type-A ports to a PC. Using the VIA VL805 controller, the card supports SuperSpeed USB data transfers up to 5 Gb/s and maintains backward compatibility with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. A Molex-compatible 4-pin power connector provides optional additional power for devices with higher current draw. The compact board and included low-profile slot bracket allow installation in both standard and small form-factor cases; Plug & Play and Hot Plug are supported so no external drivers are required for typical use.

How to use

Power off the PC and install the card into an available PCIe slot (x1, x4, x8 or x16). If external devices require additional power, connect a free Molex-compatible 4-pin cable from the system power supply to the card. Replace the slot bracket if needed for low-profile cases using the supplied bracket. Boot the system and connect USB devices to the external or internal Type-A ports. The card supports Plug & Play and Hot Plug; on supported operating systems no extra driver installation is normally required.

For reliable performance with high-current devices (external drives, some USB hubs, or devices with high peak draws), connect the Molex-compatible 4-pin power cable. Ensure the motherboard supports PCI Express Base Specification 1.0 or higher and that a suitable free PCIe slot is available.
