The InLine 79999P PoE Tester checks Power over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+) voltage on RJ45 network ports that comply with IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at standards. It detects supply voltage in the range of 37–57 V and indicates whether power is present on the Endspan or Midspan pin pairs. Telephone or ISDN voltages and other non‑PoE standards are not supported.
The PoE tester provides a simple visual indication of PoE presence using LEDs for Endspan and Midspan detection. It requires only the supplied short RJ45 cable for connection and is compact and portable for quick on‑site checks. The device helps verify whether a network port supplies PoE without requiring additional equipment.
Connect the tester's RJ45 connector to the supplied short cable, then plug the other end of the cable into the RJ45 port to be tested. Observe the LEDs: if the Endspan LED lights, PoE is present on pins 1,2,3,6; if the Midspan LED lights, PoE is present on pins 4,5,7,8. If no LED lights, the tested port does not supply PoE.
Use the PoE tester only on Ethernet ports expected to conform to IEEE 802.3af/at and within the specified 37–57 V range. Do not use the tester to measure telephone or ISDN lines or other voltages outside the stated standards.
