Processor Intel Xeon Silver 4215R 3.2 GHz 8 Cores 11 MB LGA 3647
The Intel Xeon Silver 4215R is an 8-core server processor based on the Cascade Lake microarchitecture. It operates at a base frequency of 3.2 GHz with a maximum single-core Turbo frequency up to 4.0 GHz and includes an 11 MB last-level cache. Designed for LGA 3647 platforms, the CPU supports hexa-channel DDR4 memory and a maximum system memory capacity of 1.02 TB. The processor targets server and workstation workloads and implements modern instruction set extensions such as SSE4.2, AVX, AVX2 and AVX-512 to accelerate compute-intensive tasks.
The processor offers hardware virtualization and security technologies including Intel VT-x, VT-d, Extended Page Tables and Intel Trusted Execution Technology to isolate workloads and improve platform protection. Performance features include Intel Turbo Boost, Hyper-Threading, AVX-512 FMAs and Intel Deep Learning Boost for improved single-thread and vectorized throughput. Power and responsiveness are enhanced by Enhanced Intel SpeedStep, Intel Speed Shift and Turbo Boost Max Technology. Additional platform capabilities include Intel RDT for resource control, VMD for NVMe management and support for Intel Optane persistent memory.
Install the processor into a compatible LGA 3647 motherboard following the board and chassis manufacturer instructions for socket handling, thermal solution mounting and power delivery. Apply an appropriate server-grade CPU cooler and thermal interface material, populate supported DDR4 hexa-channel memory modules up to the platform limit, and update firmware/BIOS to a release that recognizes Cascade Lake processors. Configure system firmware settings for desired features such as enabling VT-d, Hyper-Threading, and any performance profiles provided by the platform.
Use this processor in server or workstation systems with validated LGA 3647 hardware and adequate cooling. For virtualization, enable Intel VT-x/VT-d and allocate memory across channels to maintain bandwidth. When running AVX‑512 workloads, verify cooling and power provisioning to sustain turbo frequencies and consider platform-level performance profiles for critical cores.
