Processor Intel Xeon E-2374G 3.7 GHz 8 MB Smart Cache LGA 1200
Intel technologies provide a collection of hardware features and extensions integrated into Intel processors and chipsets to improve platform security, virtualization, multimedia processing and power management. The set includes trusted execution, virtualization for CPUs and I/O, 64-bit computing support, video and media acceleration, cryptographic instructions, cache sharing, power-saving idle states, thermal monitoring and performance-boosting technologies such as Turbo Boost and Hyper-Threading. These capabilities enable isolated execution environments, faster media encoding/decoding, improved virtual machine performance and hardware-assisted security mechanisms.
Built-in hardware security like Intel Trusted Execution Technology, Boot Guard, Secure Key and Intel SGX reduces exposure to malicious code and helps protect sensitive data. Virtualization features (VT‑x, VT‑d, EPT) and Intel Optane persistent memory support improve virtual machine density, I/O performance and memory capacity for demanding workloads. Media and graphics enhancements such as Clear Video HD, InTru 3D and Quick Sync Video accelerate video playback and encoding. Power and performance technologies — Turbo Boost, Turbo Boost 2.0, Enhanced SpeedStep, idle C‑states, thermal monitoring and Hyper-Threading — balance responsiveness and energy efficiency.
These hardware features are enabled and managed through a combination of firmware (BIOS/UEFI), operating system support and compatible software. Enable security and virtualization options in the system BIOS/UEFI where required, install operating system and drivers that support Intel extensions, and use vendor or hypervisor tools to configure virtual machines, I/O passthrough and memory options. Media acceleration features are utilized automatically by supported codecs and applications that detect Intel integrated graphics and Quick Sync Video. For cryptographic acceleration, use libraries and applications that call AES‑NI instructions.
Ensure the system firmware and OS are up to date and enable required features (for example, VT‑x, VT‑d, SGX) in BIOS/UEFI only if supported by your software stack. Use security features such as Boot Guard and Execute Disable Bit together with up-to-date endpoint protection. For virtualization workloads, combine VT‑d, EPT and sufficient memory (or Intel Optane persistent memory when supported) to improve performance and reliability.
