Processor Intel Xeon W5-2465X 3.1 GHz 33.75 MB LGA 4677
Intel technologies provide a set of processor and platform features designed to improve security, virtualization, performance and manageability for servers, workstations and desktops. They include hardware-enforced trusted execution, multiple virtualization enhancements for CPU and I/O, 64-bit support, cache sharing, cryptographic instruction extensions, dynamic frequency scaling and AI acceleration features. Together these technologies enable protected execution environments, accelerated virtualized workloads, higher single-core and multi-core performance, improved power efficiency and additional controls for memory and resource isolation.
Hardware-based protections such as Intel® Trusted Execution Technology, Intel® SGX, Intel® Boot Guard and Total Memory Encryption reduce exposure to malicious code and physical memory attacks. Virtualization features (VT-x, VT-d, EPT) improve isolation, I/O performance and management of virtual machines. Frequency and power management technologies including Turbo Boost, Turbo Boost Max Technology, Speed Shift and Enhanced SpeedStep balance responsiveness and energy efficiency. Instruction set extensions (AES-NI, AVX‑512, DL Boost, TSX and other extensions) accelerate cryptography, AI inference and highly parallel workloads. Resource Director Technology and support for Intel® Optane™ persistent memory help optimize memory and cache usage for demanding applications.
Enable and configure supported features through the system firmware (BIOS/UEFI) and the operating system or hypervisor. For security features such as Boot Guard, SGX and Trusted Execution, follow platform vendor guidance to provision keys, enable protections and deploy applications to use trusted execution environments. For virtualization, enable VT-x/VT-d and configure the hypervisor to use EPT and I/O device passthrough where needed. Use platform power and performance settings to allow Turbo Boost, Speed Shift and Enhanced SpeedStep to operate; OS power plans and driver support ensure proper transition of P-states. To leverage instruction extensions like AES-NI, AVX-512 and DL Boost, use software and libraries compiled to detect and use these features.
For production deployments, keep firmware and microcode up to date, enable relevant security features in BIOS/UEFI, and use an up-to-date OS or hypervisor that supports the processor features. When optimizing workloads, profile applications to determine which instruction set extensions and memory features provide the greatest benefit.
