ISOVER Climpipe Section Alu2 Mineral Wool Pipe Insulation 60mm Diameter 20mm Thickness 1.2m Length

ISOVER Climpipe Section Alu2 is a high-performance mineral wool pipe insulation designed for the thermal and acoustic protection of various piping systems. This pre-formed glass wool section features a reinforced aluminum foil facing, which acts as a vapor barrier and provides a clean, professional finish. With an inner diameter of 60 mm and a wall thickness of 20 mm, it is engineered to fit standard pipe sizes, ensuring efficient heat retention and effective condensation control in both residential and industrial applications.

Advantages

The primary benefit of this insulation is its high thermal efficiency, which significantly reduces heat loss in heating systems and prevents energy waste. The inclusion of a reinforced aluminum foil facing adds structural integrity and serves as an effective moisture barrier, protecting the glass wool core from environmental factors. Its robust construction ensures long-term durability, while the inherent properties of mineral wool provide excellent fire resistance and sound dampening capabilities, contributing to safer and quieter building services.

Suitable for

• Heating and hot water supply pipes
• Ventilation and air conditioning ductwork
• Plumbing systems requiring condensation control
• Residential and commercial building infrastructure

When it may not be suitable

This product is not intended for use in environments where temperatures exceed the operational limits of glass wool or the aluminum foil facing. It is also not suitable for direct exposure to harsh chemicals or outdoor environments without additional protective cladding.

Key specifications

• Material: Glass wool
• Length: 1.2 m
• Inner diameter: 60 mm
• Wall thickness: 20 mm
• Density: 90 kg/m³
• Thermal conductivity: 0.043 W/(m·K)
• Surface finish: Reinforced aluminum foil

How to use

Installation is straightforward due to the pre-formed shape of the insulation. Simply open the longitudinal slit of the section, place it around the pipe, and snap it into position. Ensure that all joints are tightly butted together to maintain thermal continuity. The aluminum foil facing should be sealed at all seams and joints using a compatible self-adhesive aluminum tape to ensure a continuous vapor barrier and prevent moisture ingress.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify the outer diameter of your pipe to ensure a snug fit with the 60 mm inner diameter.
• Calculate the total length of the pipe run to determine the required number of 1.2 m sections.
• Ensure you have sufficient aluminum sealing tape for all joints.

Usage recommendations

For optimal performance, ensure the pipe surface is clean and dry before installation. Always seal all longitudinal and butt joints with high-quality aluminum tape to maintain the integrity of the vapor barrier and prevent condensation.
