ISOVER Mineral Wool Pipe Insulation Shell 76/30, 1.2m

The ISOVER Mineral Wool Pipe Insulation Shell 76/30 is a high-performance thermal insulation solution specifically engineered for pipes with an outer diameter of 76 mm. With a wall thickness of 30 mm and a length of 1.2 meters, this rigid mineral wool section is designed to minimize heat loss in heating systems and prevent condensation on cold water pipes. Its robust construction ensures long-term stability and consistent thermal performance in both residential and industrial piping environments.

Advantages

This insulation shell offers exceptional thermal resistance, significantly improving the energy efficiency of piping systems by reducing heat transfer. The mineral wool material is inherently fire-resistant, providing an added layer of safety to the installation. Its precise dimensions allow for a snug fit around the pipe, which simplifies the installation process and ensures uniform coverage. Furthermore, the material is durable and resistant to aging, maintaining its insulating properties over many years of service.

Suitable for

• Heating system piping
• Hot and cold water supply lines
• Industrial process piping
• Condensation control for chilled water pipes

When it may not be suitable

This product is not intended for use in environments where it will be directly exposed to liquid water or high-pressure steam leaks, as the mineral wool may become saturated. It is also not suitable for pipes with diameters significantly different from 76 mm, as an improper fit will compromise the thermal efficiency of the insulation.

Key specifications

• Inner diameter: 76 mm
• Wall thickness: 30 mm
• Length: 1.2 meters
• Material: Mineral wool
• Fire resistance: Non-combustible

How to use

To install the insulation, place the shell sections around the pipe, ensuring that the joints are tightly butted together to prevent thermal bridging. If the shell is split, secure it firmly using appropriate binding wire or adhesive tape designed for insulation materials. Ensure that the entire length of the pipe is covered and that all seams are sealed to maintain the integrity of the thermal barrier.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify the exact outer diameter of your pipe to ensure a proper fit.
• Calculate the total length of the piping system to determine the required number of sections.
• Check if additional protective cladding or vapor barriers are required for your specific environment.

Usage recommendations

For optimal performance, ensure that the pipe surface is clean and dry before installation. Regularly inspect the insulation for any signs of mechanical damage or moisture ingress to maintain maximum energy efficiency.
