The iStorage diskAshur M2 PIN is a hardware-encrypted portable SSD with a slim, rugged design and PIN authentication. It uses AES-XTS 256-bit hardware encryption validated to FIPS PUB 197 and a Common Criteria EAL 5+ certified secure microprocessor. The drive offers USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity via included USB Type-C and Type-A cables, read/write speeds up to 370 MB/s and capacities up to 2 TB. The enclosure is IP68 rated, shockproof (survives drops up to 4 m onto concrete) and crushproof (withstands up to a 2.7-ton vehicle), while an epoxy resin layer and tamper-evident design provide physical protection.
The diskAshur M2 PIN provides strong, validated AES-XTS 256-bit hardware encryption with a secure microprocessor, tamper-evident and tamper-resistant construction, and PIN-based access control with separate User and Admin PINs. It is highly durable and portable (IP68, shock- and crushproof) and requires no software—simply enter a 7–15 digit PIN to unlock. The device supports read-only mode, admin-configurable recovery and PIN policies, and is host- and OS-independent.
Connect the diskAshur M2 PIN to any host with a USB port using the supplied Type-C or Type-A cable. At connection, enter the configured 7–15 digit User PIN on the onboard keypad to unlock and access the drive like a normal portable SSD. If the User PIN is forgotten, the Administrator can use the Admin PIN or a one-time recovery PIN to unlock the device and allow the User to set a new PIN. No additional software or drivers are required for use across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and other supported systems.
Configure Admin and User PIN policies on deployment (minimum length and special character requirements) and consider using the Admin-set one-time recovery PIN for secure PIN recovery. For pre-provisioned read-only content, enable the Admin read-only mode to prevent user modification. Store and transport the device in protective cases to minimize physical shocks despite its rugged certification.
