USB Flash Drive iStorage Kanguru SS3 SuperSpeed 64GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A with Physical Write Protect Switch
The iStorage Kanguru SS3 SuperSpeed 64GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A is a compact aluminium USB flash drive designed for fast file transfer and basic hardware-level protection. It provides 64 GB of storage, USB 3.2 Gen 1 (SuperSpeed) Type-A connectivity, and quoted maximum sequential read and write speeds of up to 105 MB/s and 78 MB/s respectively. A built-in physical write-protect switch lets you lock the drive to read-only mode to prevent accidental modification or malware from writing to the device. The drive is driverless and plug-and-play on standard host systems and is lightweight at approximately 14 g, making it suitable for portable backups, file transport and ReadyBoost use.
The aluminium housing offers a durable, lightweight form factor while keeping the drive compact for everyday carry. USB 3.2 Gen 1 compatibility delivers faster transfers on SuperSpeed ports while maintaining backward compatibility with USB 2.0. The integrated physical write-protect switch provides a simple, hardware-level method to prevent changes to stored data and reduce the risk of infection from removable-media malware. No driver installation or administrator privileges are required for typical plug-and-play operation.
Slide the physical write-protect switch to the read-only position to prevent any write operations before connecting the drive to a host computer. Insert the USB Type-A connector into an available USB port; the device is recognized automatically on most operating systems without additional drivers. To enable writing to the drive, move the switch back to the writable position, then copy or modify files as usual via your file manager. For best transfer speeds, use a USB 3.x SuperSpeed port and a compatible cable or hub. Eject the drive safely via the host operating system before removing it to avoid file system corruption.
Use the write-protect switch routinely when sharing files or connecting to untrusted systems to reduce the risk of accidental modification or malware infection. For frequent large transfers, connect to a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (SuperSpeed) port and ensure the host supports the quoted transfer rates; if interoperability with older systems is required, the drive will operate at USB 2.0 speeds. Keep the cap on the connector when not in use to protect the interface and store the drive in a dry environment to preserve the aluminium finish and internal components.
