Lens Hood JJC ET-74B for Canon EF 70-300mm telephoto zoom lens
Lens Hood JJC ET-74B for Canon EF 70-300mm telephoto zoom lens
JJC ET-74B for Canon EF 70-300mm telephoto zoom lens is a dedicated petal-shaped lens hood designed to mount on the lens bayonet and block stray light that causes flare and ghosting. Compatible with the telephoto zoom range, the hood helps maintain image contrast and clarity when shooting in bright, backlit or high-contrast conditions. Its shape provides coverage appropriate for the lens’s focal lengths while allowing comfortable handling and access to controls during outdoor and travel photography.
The ET-74B reduces lens flare and ghosting, resulting in improved contrast and more accurate color rendering. Its bayonet mount provides secure, repeatable attachment and quick removal. The petal-shaped design is optimized for a telephoto zoom, minimizing vignetting across the zoom range while ensuring effective shading. The hood also offers basic physical protection for the front element against accidental impact, light rain and dust.
Align the hood’s bayonet tabs with the corresponding slots on the front of the lens and rotate until it locks into place. Confirm the hood is securely seated and does not obstruct the field of view at the shortest focal length you plan to use. For storage or when using a padded camera bag, unmount the hood and nest it inverted on the lens or store it separately. When shooting through filters or in confined angles, verify that the petal shape does not vignette; remove the hood if necessary for close-up framing at extreme wide angles.
Use the hood whenever shooting outdoors in bright conditions or when the main light source is near the frame to maintain contrast. Keep the bayonet mounting surfaces clean and dry to ensure a secure fit; avoid forcing the hood if it does not rotate smoothly into place. Store the hood inverted on the lens to save space and protect the exterior surface during transport.
